Shechen Monastery is dedicated to the preservation and continuation of the Tibetan Buddhist spiritual and cultural heritage. In particular, their emphasis is on the Nyingma lineage of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

The 2500 year-old teachings of Buddhism, with their pragmatic approach to the mind and emotions and focus on compassion, remain profoundly relevant to modern day life.

Under the guidance of Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, our educational and cultural programs:

Provide for the support and education of over 1,000 monks, nuns, and children who receive an authentic education in Buddhist philosophy, sacred arts, and meditation in our schools and monasteries.
Preserve Tibet’s spiritual lineage through our philosophical colleges and retreat centers.
Archive rare Tibetan books and artwork.
Reproduce lost texts.
Revive authentic Tibetan painting and crafts and the sacred dance tradition of eastern Tibet.

Shechen Monasteries are located in Tibet, Nepal, India, and Bhutan.

RIWO SANGCHO: This incense is carefully prepared according to ancient Tibetan traditions. Its ingredients, which number 100, include red and white sandalwood, juniper, and special sacred substances, which are precisely combined in order to make this incense worthy of a supreme offering. Roll contains approximately 45, 10" sticks of incense.

SURPO: Sur is used by Buddhists as a pure and sacred offering to the sense of smell, whereby it is said to be able to not only please the Buddhas and Guardian deities, but also to satiate the ordinary beings from the six realms and pacify demons and obstacle makers.

This Sur is cleanly and carefully prepared according to ancient Tibetan traditions. Its ingredients include the 'three white things' (yogurt, milk and butter); 'the three sweet things' (molasses, honey and sugar); the six medicinal spices, barley flour, and special, sacred substances, which are all precisely combined in order to make this supreme offering. Roll contains approximately 45, 10" sticks of incense.
