Zukoh
is a finely ground powder made from the same ingredients that
fine incense is made of: cinnamon, cassia, clove, sandalwood,
borneol, star anise, etc. Buddhist monks have used it for centuries
for purification before ceremonies, preparing meals, or even
touching another person. It has its origins in ancient India
where hygiene and spreading germs was a major concern. It can
be rubbed on any pulse point, behind your ears and/or used on
your hands. It has a very natural fragrance. It can be rubbed
between the palms for hand sanitation.
Zukoh can also be burned as incense using Koh Do style. It can be burned on charcoal, makko,
or used in incense formulas.
